'Tis not every day that a bard turneth 450 years old, now is it? That's why Classical 88.7 KCME-FM and several other area nonprofit organizations around the fair kingdom of Colorado Springs are collaborating to hold the first annual "Bardfest" . Celebrations and events will be happening all around Colorado Springs during August in celebration of Shakespeare, the Bard of Avon. Throughout the month of August, tune-in to 88.7 KCME-FM to hear programming inspired by Shakespeare interspersed with the quality classical music programming you hear on KCME each day, as well as revelry and performances by local organizations that celebrate Shakespeare. Colin McAllister and Derek Keller began their musical partnership in 1998 as incoming graduate students at the University of California, San Diego. They gave the United States premiere of Helmut Lachenmann's Salut für Caudwell in 2000. Their current collaboration, seen here, is performed in Colorado Springs, CO for the Shakespeare Festival happening the entire month of August, 2014.

Encore Broadcasts of The Colorado Springs Philharmonic 2013-2014 Season coming Sundays this fall
KCME is happy to announce that the 34-year-long artistic collaboration between KCME and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic continues with enthusiasm!  The new schedule has been announced, and the Philharmonic Encore Broadcasts are moving to Sunday afternoons at 3:00 PM. Thank you for attending the live concerts--there is nothing to match the excitement--but if you could not attend or would like savor the musical moments again, tune in on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 P.M. for the Encore Broadcasts of the Philharmonic.
